Brian McKnight: Love & Marriage Part 3 of 3

March 31, 2010 / Posted in Interviews
Tags: Brian McKnight / Vivica A. Fox / Wendy Raquel Robinson

By Souleo. Alas, we reach the end of our three part series with the cast of the new play Je'Caryous Johnson's Cheaper to Keep Her.  After Vivica A. Fox and Wendy Raquel Robinson dished on love marriage it's time to hear the male perspective.  Brian McKnight has been offering that perspective for a little over two decades through his classic love songs such as "Back at One," and "Anytime," so it comes as no surprise that he has a lot to say on the topic of love.

Brian is not holding back as he tells it like it is and recommends doing everything in one's power to keep your lover, why counseling before marriage should be mandatory and more.

Put in work:

"In order for a relationship to work both people need to give everything they have in order to make the other person happy.  When one person is doing all the thinking, loving and providing that gets old."

Get counseling before marriage:

"We need to have a better sense of ourselves before we go into any situation having kids or sex.  In other countries you can't get married until you can prove that you're able to handle that commitment.  So I think there should be counseling done to prove you can take care of and support a family."

Divorce court ain't always fair:

"Don't marry someone if they don't have as much at stake as you do.  When it comes to court and divorce it's financial for a man and for a woman it's emotional nine times out of ten.  But they both go into it being emotional.  It's a tough thing on both sides to handle."

Wendy Raquel Robinson: Love & Marriage Part 2 of 3

March 30, 2010 / Posted in
Tags: Brian McKnight / Vivica A. Fox / Wendy Raquel Robinson

By Souleo. In yesterday's part one of out three part series with the cast of Je'Caryous Johnson's Cheaper to Keep Her, Vivica A. Fox talked temptation, why we should all want a prenuptial agreement, keeping it sexy and more.  Now JimmyJazz.com presents to you her co-star Wendy Raquel Robinson's take on the topics of love and marriage.

Wendy, one of television's most recognizable faces from shows such as "The Steve Harvey Show," and "The Game," will celebrate her seventh year of marriage this year.  According to Wendy there's no seven year itch and she's offering tips on how you too can avoid it as she talks keeping the spice alive, complimenting your lover, why we need love now more than ever before and more.

Get a multiple personality disorder and then laugh:

"I think I have a multiple personality disorder because my husband never knows what to expect.  Being spontaneous and unpredictable keeps the fires burning.  Also, I love to laugh and there's healing in laughter.  Even in the not so good days I always try to remember to laugh in spite of myself as well."

If it's good let him/her know:

"I've learned how to value what you have when you have it.  You need to let that other person know their value and worth.  We are always in need of appreciation, a hug, kiss or a compliment from our mate."

What the world needs now is love:

"I think right now love is needed more than ever with the socioeconomic climate.  If we don't love each other we're gonna need a lot more help.  I think love and romance is on an incline but it's a very slow incline.  I'm hoping that it picks up 'cause success is nothing without somebody to share it with."

It ain't all about the Benjamin's:

"Money can't buy you happiness in a relationship.  I hope those who see the play leave understanding that it's not about money.  We get consumed with who is making money and doing this with it, but if we value each other it can be special."

Vivica A. Fox: Love & Marriage Part 1 of 3

March 29, 2010 / Posted in
Tags: Brian McKnight / Vivica A. Fox / Wendy Raquel Robinson

By Souleo. Vivica A. Fox, Brian McKnight and Wendy Raquel Robinson all star in the new play about cheating, money and heartbreak, Je'Caryous Johnson's Cheaper to Keep HerJimmyJazz.com got to pick each star's brain to get their advice on the perennial topic of love in this three part series.  To kick things off we start with Vivica.

If there's one Hollywood actress you can always count on to tell is straight with no sugar it's Vivica A. Fox.  Ever since the demise of her relationship with 50 Cent, Vivica's love life has been tabloid fodder so she definitely has some real advice to share about relationships.  Check below as she talks dealing with temptation, why we should all want a prenuptial agreement, keeping it sexy and more.

The fighting temptations:

"You're not dead and will see attractive, handsome, intelligent and intriguing people but if you have a commitment to someone it's about having respect for the other person.  In my past life I've reacted on temptation but that was due to immaturity and wanting the challenge of making the person like me.  Once I got there and realized I was hurting another's feelings I realized this ain't cool to do.  I wouldn't want it done to me.  Karma is a b**** baby!"

Don't be a bag lady:

"I call that luggage.  We all have a tendency to have luggage from our past relationships and sometimes that triggers insecurity and starts arguments.  If something makes you insecure or you have doubts then out of respect you should allow the other person to defend themselves."

We want prenup:

"I feel prenuptial is the best option.  I don't believe in giving somebody half of your money that they never earned.  Get your paper work together boo!  Now if you were a stay at home mom that's different; you can get a clause that disappears after 15 years."

Talk to your lover:

"I learned communication is key.  Sometimes you can be in a relationship and don't even know they are unhappy or things go to the left or they have a wandering eye.  We get so busy in our world with stress and life that we forget to spend time together and date when married and communicate."

Keep it sexy:

"I have a lot of girlfriends that are like my character, Morgan.  They try to be the perfect wife that sometimes they forget the simple thing of keeping the relationship alive and staying sexy.  Guys also have to be romantic.  We have to learn to take care of each other more than just financially."

JizzleJazzle's Horoscope March 26 - April 1, 2010

March 25, 2010 / Posted in Horoscope
Tags: Horoscope / JizzleJazzle

Aries, Leo and Sagittarius:

You love to project yourself as sexy, smart and confident but not everyone seems to agree this week.  Seems you've been eating one too many donuts lately, watching way too many reality shows instead of reading and stroking your ego a little too often like you stroke your you-know-what.  I'll be the first one to tell ya like it is and honey it ain't what you think it is.  It's time you get real with you first so the world sees your true beauty.

Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo:

What about your friends?  TLC sang it and now is your week to live it.  There's one particular friend that you're gonna have to keep your eye on who will try and pull the wool over your eyes while placing the knife in your back.  Girlfriend has a serious case against you honey and wants to bring you to your knees faster than a prostitute in the red light district.  Question you'll have to ask yourself is why, oh, why?  Here's a hint:  you probably left your lipstick on her man's chest.   Karma is a _____!

Libra, Aquarius and Gemini:

It's all about positive thinking this week as you need all the confidence you can muster.  So when you look in the mirror and see rolls on your stomach think of them as ruffles of love.  When you trip all around like a klutz think of it as improv choreography.  And when you realize that all this positive thinking ain't helping at all think of it as blowing smoke up a camel's butt and move on!

Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces:

This is your week to put every drunk on reality TV to shame and live it up!  Your responsibilities will be limited, your cash limitless and your libido pushed to the limit.  So get crunk, touch somebody's junk but just remember don't drive home drunk.  Ooooh wow I'm rhyming, maybe I should rapping, is this getting corny, okay I'll stop yapping.

I'm JizzleJazzle and remember don't be good, be fabulous!

By Souleo. So exactly what does a woman known for her verbal smackdowns, sexually explicit lyrics and take-no-prisoners attitude do when she's single after a ten year marriage?  Well if you're Khia you don't sit at home eating away your sorrows with Ben & Jerry's ice cream; you hop right back on the scene and start hunting!  Such is exactly what Khia is doing as she promotes her single "Been a Bad Girl," from her forthcoming album, Motor Mouf A.K.A. Khia Shamone.

"I'm excited!  I feel like a girl in the candy store.  When you're used to someone so long it is different but I always like new experiences.  I enjoy people and I'm just having fun," she said.

Khia even has a few sex and dating tips that she's ready to share with JimmyJazz.com readers:

One:  Love Yourself!

"A man will only see you how see yourself; so love yourself and you will only get love in return!"

Two:  Work it!

"Size doesn't matter.  You just gotta work it and you gotta have fun.  I work it on top!"

Three:  Bad is Good, or is it?!

"Stay away from bad boys even though I love them.  They are trouble but what's life without a little trouble?"

Get Yo’ Hair Right: Tips from Dariel Pulliam

March 24, 2010 / Posted in Interviews / Style
Tags:

By Souleo. There is nothing worse than rocking the wrong hairstyle with an otherwise excellent fashion look.  You don't want to wear a bun with a chic rocker look or a large afro with a corporate look.  To help get your mane on point JimmyJazz.com teamed up with Dariel Pulliam, one of the most sought after beauty experts in the entertainment industry.  He has appeared on BET's reality show "Keyshia Cole's The Way It Is,"  "The Frankie & Neffe Show", and is the creative hands behind the tresses of Tameka "Tiny" Cottle and Antonia "Toya" Carter, Tiffany Evans, Tweet, Nivea and more.

Read on to get yo' hair right for any fashion look.

The Sophisticated Look:

Keep it classy!  You can never go wrong with a really neat bun, a part in the middle straight or to the back or curls.  Any of those three are definitely a go for sophisticated attire.

The Hood Fab Look:

Only if you must!  I really would stay away from this look.  Someone asked me the other day if micromini braids are in and I told her they were played out before they came out!  I want girls to be classy.  You don't see women on TV with braids looking fabulous.  If you must rock this look then attach a long ponytail and become hood fab in one second.

The Girly-Girl Look:

Sometimes you have to suffer for good hair!  During the summer a lot of women don't want to wear their hair out 'cause it's hot.  You have to ask yourself, do you want to look good or worry about sweating?  All you have to do is not move too much and just be cute.  So I recommend a sew-in for a nice chic ponytail, drop curls, or long hair with a part in the middle.  If you do want a short hairstyle then you can also get hair weaves and cut it into a short hairstyle.

The Tomboy Look:

You're still a girl!  For this look you can soften it by wearing a long extension in the summer to go with cornrows.  You can rock that look Ciara did with her cornrows.

The Rocker Look:

Take it to the edge!  A lot of girls are doing this look now and to go with it Mohawks, shaved side and backs and tails all add just the right edge.  It's an easy look to manage but you do have to get your hair done every week with short hair.

The Conservative Look:

Keep it simple!  I would wear natural Indian hair in a neat ponytail, bun or straight because it's easier to maintain with a corporate lifestyle.  Women go to the gym after work or in the morning and if the hair is already curled it's less work and easy to straighten.

The Boho Look:

Get low!  This is a really low maintenance look so you don't need to do too much at all.  You can just sleep with it up at night, play with it in the morning or crimp some pieces and step out.

Mario Winans: Journeys along Love’s Highway

March 23, 2010 / Posted in Interviews / Music
Tags: Diddy / Keyshia Cole / Mario Winans

By Souleo. Mario Winans has been lying low for the past few years holed away in the studio producing for the likes of Diddy, Keyshia Cole and others.  Now he is set to return as a solo artist with the forthcoming album release Love's Highway. Making the record forced Mario to reflect on his own love journey which he shares with JimmyJazz.com

Mario recounted a tumultuous relationship which he considers to be one of his main bumps along the highway to love that he's had to overcome.

"I was very vulnerable in a new state and didn't know a lot of people.  I fell in love with a girl and I believe she loved me too.  Whatever she was doing was bringing pain to me and I soon realized I was caught in a situation with someone who loved me but with a ceiling.  Her wants and urges came before my heart and I couldn't really break out easily," he revealed.

Finally Mario did break free of the relationship and in doing so he created one of his breakout hits, "Emotional," for Carl Thomas which featured Faith Evans.

"In 'Emotional' the line: What's a man to do when he can't take no more/What I am I to do when my heart beats me to the door is from that relationship.  I was stuck 'cause of where my mindset was," he said.

Mario's mindset is now in a completely different state and it's one of contentment.

"I'm happily married now and in the best place.  I fall in love with my wife every second of the day.  We have a beautiful family and I'm excited about it."

Such happiness doesn't mean that he won't deliver the emotionally charged love songs he's known for as evidenced on the album's buzz single, "Here Comes the Pain."  The track is signature Mario but it's good to know that he's no longer living the tales of heartbreak he sings so effortlessly.

Jay Sean: Fashion Tips from Abroad

March 22, 2010 / Posted in Interviews / Style
Tags: Cash Money / Jay Sean

By Souleo. Pop singer and Cash Money signee, Jay Sean has a truly global perspective when it comes to fashion.  The voice behind the megahit single, "Down," has ancestors in India, grew up in the UK and has traveled all across the world as an artist.  In the process Jay has gone through several fashion evolutions.

"My fashion has truly evolved.  7 years ago as an artist I was into ripped jeans, retro attire and bright color T-shirts," he said.

Since then Jay has torn up the ripped jeans in favor of fitted pants and custom shirts.  "Now I wear a blazer and rock it a bit more with a European flavor," he said.

It's that European flavor in his music and fashion that American fans can't seem to resist.  JimmyJazz.com linked up with the star to get his tips on perfecting the "Jay Sean" look.

One:  Kicks!  I'm into kicks like crazy.  I must have hundreds of pairs in my house.  I love Creative Recreation, Passport, Green Genius, Nike, Puma, and Reebok's new line of streetwear stuff.

Two:  Accessories!  You can't go O.T.T. (over the top).  It's about the little things like chains, watches or beads.  I like the simple tasteful bits.  My watch is my favorite accessory.  It's the Breitling Bentley which is customized with the ice.

Three:  It's all about how things fit.  It doesn't need to be designer.  It's all about the cut and the way it drops.  One of the first conversations I had with Cash Money is them telling me how much they like the way I dress and my European style.  Since then I've started to notice a few European stores popping up in America like Zaro and Energy.

JizzleJazzle's Horoscope March 19 - 25 2010

March 19, 2010 / Posted in Horoscope
Tags: Horoscope / JizzleJazzle

Aries, Leo and Sagittarius:

You might want to stay offline today and that's because you have a leak.  I'm not talking about the kind you can't stop from dripping down your legs after one too many drinks at the bar.  I'm talking about naked photos, private texts and emails and all kinds of salaciousness.  You're quite vulnerable this week and it looks like more than one skeleton will be coming out of your closet.  By the way, one of them skeletons just might be that you're in the closet.  Don't act like you don't know who you are!

Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo:

Like "dumb blondes" such as Marilyn Monroe, Anna Nicole Smith and Jessica Simpson you know that acting like you can't tell your ass from your mouth can get you just about anything you want and then some.  Now is the time to follow through on that knowledge.  The company you surround yourself with this week doesn't want to be upstaged by your brilliance so "dumb" down and take notes so that in the end you come out on top.

Libra, Aquarius and Gemini:

Be careful before you go singing on the dotted line, both literally and figuratively speaking.  Your mind just ain't up to it this week.  So make sure you take extra precaution before you commit to a decision or else you'll be out of money, overworking yourself and doing sexual favors that your body just ain't flexible enough to handle.  Now that's what I call bending over backwards to get the job done.

Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces:

You can find love today so long as you stay home!  Sorry to break the bad news but love ain't out there for you this week in them clubs, back alleys and glory holes you been peeping into.  Love is right there in the mirror looking back at you.  So get to know yourself and find the love you've been looking for-until next week's glory hole session, that is.

I'm JizzleJazzle and remember don't be good, be fabulous!

DJ Webstar: Takes it back to School

March 18, 2010 / Posted in Interviews / Music
Tags: Diddy / DJ Webstar / Justin Bieber

By Souleo. Should the urban Hollywood community do more for the communities they represent has been a question that many ask and few answer.  One talented urban celebrity who is answering that question through action is producer DJ Webstar.  After rising to fame alongside Young B with the hit "Chicken Noodle Soup," he has been on his grind producing for everyone from Diddy to Justin Bieber.  Still he finds time to give back as he recently he teamed up with Jimmy Jazz and HOT 97 for our school clothing drive and he regularly counsels youth at the Harlem Children's Zone.

For DJ Webstar giving back by promoting education is a matter of importance since he understands the struggles that youths face.

"I grew up poor with six of us in one bedroom.  When I was growing up I didn't have nobody giving back and those that did were not young.  So if I show the younger ones that I can give back then they will give back in their community in ways I can't as doctors, lawyers, and teachers," he said.

With high drop out rates, peer pressure and low academic scores he knows better than most about the challenges of the education system and is even committed to returning to school himself.

"I graduated high school and went to college and then got caught up in music.  I do plan to go back to school and finish.  It's important to always have as much knowledge as possible."

DJ Webstar is hoping that his efforts inspire more in the urban community to give back and make a difference.

"I don't think enough rappers do enough.  Most of us came from the hood and didn't always have the nice things we had.  So you're obligated to set a good example of the kids so that they won't be messed up in life."
