2 Chainz discusses latest album, cookbook
In 2012, few rapper's had a bigger year than 2 Chainz. The Georgia native dropped his debut studio album, Based on a T.R.U. Story, and it went on to top the Billboard 200 charts and earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album. While it may seem hard to top his debut, 2 Chainz recently released his sophomore album B.O.A.T.S. II: #MeTime Sept. 9, and it has already been met with positive reviews.
One look at the team that worked with 2 Chainz makes it easy to see why his follow-up album has been a success. Among the big name producers to work on the album were Pharrell Williams, Diplo and Mannie Fresh - all some of the best producers in pop music.
"Well for me, this was a wish list that I had prior to becoming a star - prior to getting the level that I was at," 2 Chainz told MSNBC recently. "I was always a fan of Pharrell, I was always a fan of Mannie Fresh and what he did in the earlier hip-hop days; Diplo and what he does for the EDM community ... When we went in the studio we just made magic and we made history together."
In addition to talking about the album, as well as Pharrell's role in hip-hop fashion, 2 Chainz also discussed his cookbook #Mealtime, which features delectable recipes with the rapper's trademark humor.
