adidas Basketball debuts NBA All-Star uniforms
The 2013 NBA All-Star game is set to take place on February 17 in the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, and things are starting to get real, thanks to adidas Basketball showing off the uniforms the players will suit up in. Hypebeast reports the clothing brand released the uniforms for both the East and West squads, and they are meant to touch upon Houston's vast aeronautical history. The East jerseys are mainly blue, while the West players will don jerseys that are primarily red.
Despite the color differences, both versions feature "specifically-engineered mesh" to offer "maximum mobility and breathability," the company said in a statement. The popular three-stripe design adidas is famous for is also on display down the sides of the shirts and matching shorts.
The roster for this year's East and West teams was announced on January 17 on TNT. The East team starters include Dwyane Wade, Rajon Rondo, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Garnett. They'll have to face off against the West team comprised of Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin and Dwight Howard.
Hopefully Garnett and Anthony will be able to put their recent beef, in which they traded words over Anthony's wife, behind them in order to play like a team and perhaps secure a win for the East.
