Air Up showdown: Orlando vs. Chicago
Before he had his own signature line, Penny Hardaway was sporting the Nike Air Ups. In fact, this was his go-to sneaker style all through the 1994-1995 NBA season. While these shoes were released in a number of different colorways, the Orlando-themed edition was no doubt the most legendary.
Nike seems to be focused on bringing back some of the classics lately, and that's exactly what the brand is doing with the Air Up '14s. These sneakers stick to many of the characteristics of the originals with just an updated synthetic upper that segways well into the modern lifestyle. Most importantly, though, these kicks are coming back in a Dark Grey, Metallic Silver and Game Royal palette that can only be deemed as having Orlando flavor.
Hardaway wasn't the only fan of the Nike Air Ups - Scottie Pippen was sporting these on the court for a chunk of his career as well. So Nike is also reviving these retros in a Chicago Bulls colorway that includes University Red, Black and of course, Metallic Silver.
So which ones are you going to be lacing up?
