Alicia Keys to join Beyonce at Super Bowl
Beyonce might seem to be taking over the world - she just performed for the president, is teaming back up with Destiny's Child and is releasing a new documentary - but she's not afraid to share the spotlight. BET reports Bey will share the Super Bowl stage with another powerful songstress, Alicia Keys.
Keys will kick off the Super Bowl belting out the "The Star-Spangled Banner" before the start of the game. This isn't the first time the duo has rocked the same venue together. Both women played a part in President Obama's inauguration events on January 21. Keys will have some big shoes to fill, since she's singing the national anthem right after Beyonce sang it when Obama was sworn in for his second term, The Associated Press reports.
This will be Keys' third trip to the Super Bowl. She sang "America the Beautiful" before the 2005 matchup and performed during the pregame show in 2008. Keys is the only artist in history to participate in this many Super Bowl events.
Even though many fans of both A-list singers will tune into the Super Bowl this February 3, others will be watching for the brother-on-brother battle. Coaches Jim and John Harbaugh's teams - the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens, respectively - will be playing against each other for the ultimate prize.
