Amateur designers wanted for Runway to Win
Calling all amateur designers. The Runway to Win campaign run by fashion designers who are in support of re-electing President Obama is looking for the most talented up and coming designers out there to win a chance to create fashion-forward clothes for the collection.
BET reports famed designers like Russell Simmons, Marc Jacobs, Jason Wu, Beyonce and Tina Knowles and Diane von Furstenberg are all part of the campaign and will act as judges for the items that are sent in. Interested designers can submit a one-of-a-kind design aimed at supporting Obama. The designs must fit on unisex crew neck tees, an oversized-fit T-shirt or a jumbo tote bag. This is a chance for designers to get their foot in the door to showcase their best work in hip hop clothes and urban clothes to some of the biggest names in the fashion industry.
According to the Runway to Win's official website, all design entries must be received by May 1. The winner will not only get to have their design up for sale on the website, but will also receive a fully-produced version of their entry signed by Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue Magazine.
