America's Next Top Model gains real talent
"America's Next Top Model" was recently gutted - with all three judges getting the boot. However, the show is set to get the revamp it needs and there will be plenty of surprising critics on board to judge the modeling hopefuls this year.
BET reports the first season of America's Next Top Model - College Edition, will have ladies in school competing against each other for a chance to rock the best in high fashion and women's urban clothes. Aside from having an entirely new panel of judges this season, there will also be guest appearances by some very famous entertainers who will act as mentors to the potential models. It's been confirmed that Grammy-winner Alicia Keys and film guru Tyler Perry will both be guests on the upcoming season.
"Tyler Perry comes on and gives the contestants an acting challenge," Tyra Banks, the show's host and creator told the news source. "The winner of that acting challenge is actually going to be in a Tyler Perry movie."
Bossip.com reports the show's revamp was announced by Banks during a taping of her show "Tyra."
"Thirteen aspiring models/students from universities and community colleges are ready to strut their stuff, and they will compete for the title of America’s Next Top Model," Banks said on her show, according to the news outlet. "But it's not just the snazzy title, the winner will also get the impressive prize that includes a Nylon magazine feature, campaigns with Nine West and Smashbox Cosmetics and a modeling contract."
BET reports the show will also feature a guest appearance by "90210"'s Shenae Grimes. The actress will serve as a photographer during one of the series' photo shoots. The new faces selected to fill the seats of longtime judges Nigel Barker, Jay Alexander and Jay Manuel include stylist Johnny Wujek, model Rob Evans and publicist Kelly Cutrone.
Fans of the show who want to dress like the models or Banks can do so by purchasing the Apple Bottoms Color Block Tunic Dress with Mesh.
