Andre Leon Talley talks true fashion
Kim Kardashian may have some new arm candy in beau Kanye West, but there is one person she isn't impressing - former editor-at-large for Vogue Magazine Andre Leon Talley. Fashionista.com recently spoke to the fashion icon while attending an exhibit of designer Ralph Rucci's work at the Andre Leon Talley gallery at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
According to the source, Talley said the word "couture" is highly overused by people with money like Kardashian trying to mingle with true stars on the red carpet. Talley told the news outlet that her boyfriend got an invite to the recent Met Ball, but Kardashian's lack of importance and taste left her out in the cold.
"What's shocking to me is how important the red carpet is. At one point I thought it was ruining [fashion] but I don't think that anymore," Talley told the news outlet. "I don't think any celebrity can take away from fashion. Not even Kim Kardashian could take away from fashion…Though, of course, Kim Kardashian didn't come to the Metropolitan Met Ball but [her boyfriend] Kanye West did."
Talley also opened up about how he loves dressing true icons like Beyonce in women's urban clothes and high fashion styles. He admitted Bey wasn't even going to attend the Met Ball, but she decided to come when he sent her a picture of the stunning gown he had envisioned for her to wear.
"She did arrive at 8:55 and the ball had already started but it didn't matter because she is Beyonce," Talley said on the true fashion icon, according to the news source.
Vogue Magazine got the dirt on Talley's other favorite looks from the Met Ball, which included Linda Evangelista, Amber Heard and Kirsten Dunst.
Ladies who want to rock looks like Beyonce should purchase the Dereon Sweater Fierce Dress for that right amount of skin.
