Attention Knicks fans: Your team's the most valuable
The New York Knicks may only be third place in the Atlantic Division, but they still have Carmelo Anthony - and now can boast being the most valuable team in the entire NBA. According to Complex magazine, Forbes determined that the team's value has actually increased 27 percent since last year to reach a total worth of $1.4 billion in 2014, likely due to better TV ratings and the $1 billion renovation of Madison Square Garden. This is the second year in a row that Forbes found the Knicks to be the most valuable NBA franchise. Might be time to pick up a pair of Jordan Melos after all.
So what other teams made the list? The L.A. Lakers came in second place with a value of $1.35 billion. Sliding in at third are the Chicago Bulls at a cool $1 million, followed by the Boston Celtics and the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets made a smart decision transferring from New Jersey to Brooklyn - according to Forbes, the move to the Barclays Center is directly responsible for a whopping 108 percent rise in the team's value.
Whether or not you're a Knicks, Lakers, Bulls, Celtics or Nets fan, there's a New Era hat for nearly any team at Jimmy Jazz to show your pride.
