Babies for Obama?
It's no secret that megastar Beyonce Knowles and her equally famous husband Jay-Z believe strongly in the reelection of President Obama. The duo recently co-hosted a swanky fundraising event in his honor and Bey is now marketing children's clothes in the spirit of moving "Forward Together."
BET reports Bey and her mother, Tina Knowles, have recently released a collection of baby clothes that show support for Obama. Onesies feature different phrases in blue and red logos. One says "Forward Together," another says "2012" and the last one reads "OBAMA." Parents looking to show their support for the current president can purchase all three tops for $65. The mother-daughter design team have also joined the Runway to Win campaign in which designers create Obama-supportive shirts that fans can purchase. The Knowles women will enter with their line, House of Dereon, while Chanel Iman, Rachel Roy, Sean John and Russell Simmons have also created apparel.
The Los Angeles Times reports the recent fundraiser held by the highest earning celebrity couple for Obama went off without a hitch.
"I can't tell you how proud we are to host tonight's event with President Obama," Beyonce told the news outlet before the event. "We believe in his vision."
Obama enjoyed the party as well, even cracking a joke that he and Jay are less popular than their wives.
"We both have daughters and our wives are more popular than we are," Obama said during the event. "So, you know, we've got a little bond there. It's hard but it's OK."
