Beats By Dr. Dre gets redesigned
Dr. Dre is well-known within the rap community and in recent years he has turned his love of music into a lucrative business with his Beats By Dr. Dre headphones. Freshness Magazine reports the brand will soon be expanding, as it's been reported Dre will soon be releasing a set of Bluetooth wireless speakers, appropriately titled "Beats Pill."
The speakers are shaped into pills, working off the fact that Dre has "Dr." in his title. The speakers are set to come in black, white and red colors and reportedly feature a four-driver, an 8.5-hour battery life with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. It's possible the Beats Pill could drop as soon as September 28.
Dre won't be hurting financially even if the Beats Pill doesn't fly off the shelves. New York Daily News reports Dre pulled in a cool $110 million before taxes in 2011, a large chunk of the funds coming from his Beats By Dr. Dre headset line. It's reported he gained nearly $100 million after reaching a deal with telephone-headset maker HTC after they spent $300 million for a 51 percent stake in Dre's company.
