Beyonce credits OMG Girlz for Instagram name
Ever since the birth of Blue Ivy a year ago, proud mama Beyonce has been showing off her personal life more than ever. From creating a new tumblr account to working on a new in-depth documentary, Beyonce is really letting fans in.
BET reports some well-known fans were behind the making of her Instagram account and even the name she chose for it. Bey recently posted how she got the name on her account - she said it came from the up-and-coming pop group, OMG Girlz.
The three young ladies are huge fans of Beyonce and posted a video last November on Mylsh TV in which they discussed the top "7 Reasons Why Beyonce is Such a Baddie."
Beyonce, touched by the message, went on to create the Instagram username "BaddieBey." She even posted one of her handwritten notes on her account, sending a shout out to the group.
"Hey Beautiful Young Ladies, Thank you so much for the sweet things y'all said," Beyonce wrote on Instagram. "You named my instagram !!FYI!!"
Even though the OMG Girlz are working hard to make a name for themselves on their own, they do have a couple famous friends in the industry.
MTV News reports one of the girls in the group, Zonnique, aka Star, is the daughter of T.I.'s wife Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, while a second member, Reginae aka Baby Carter, is the daughter of Lil Wayne and his ex-wife Antonia "Toya" Carter.
Tiny is no stranger to girl groups, she was a member of Xscape during the 1990s and also had a hand in the creation of TLC's hit song "No Scrubs."
Do you think OMG Girlz will make it? Are you surprised to learn where Beyonce's Instagram name came from?
