Beyonce gets personal
Ever since the birth of daughter Blue Ivy last January, mega star Beyonce has been opening up more about her personal life to her fans. From creating a Tumblr account showing off family snapshots, to joining social media outlets like Twitter and Instagram, Bey is really showing off how she lives. People Magazine reports the diva is now ready to offer up even more of the juicy details into her fabulous life, by way of an HBO documentary.
"Everybody knows Beyonce's music, but few know Beyonce the person," Michael Lombardo, president of programming at HBO said in a statement. "Along with electrifying footage of Beyonce onstage, this unique special looks beyond the glamour to reveal a vibrant, vulnerable, unforgettable woman."
The upcoming documentary, which is set to premiere on February 16, is being directed by Beyonce and will of course feature the singer as she performs around the globe and spends down time with her family and friends. Bey admitted she loves HBO and is so excited to share her personal story with her fans.
"Some of my favorite shows are on HBO, so I am excited that my film will be part of its bold programming," Bey said in a statement regarding the upcoming documentary. "This film was so personal to me, it had to have the right home."
Billboard Magazine reports the documentary is going to focus on all aspects of Bey's life in a sort of full-length "behind the music" style. HBO said the film will showcase home videos from Beyonce's childhood in Houston, Texas, and will offer an insider's glimpse into the challenges she's faced in her career and how she came to create her own managing company, Parkwood Entertainment.
Fans who can't wait until the 16th to see Bey will be excited to learn she'll be performing on one of the largest stages on February 3. People reports the A-list entertainer has been selected as the star of this year's Super Bowl XLVII's halftime show.
