Beyonce to go solo at Super Bowl
Many fans were elated to hear that Destiny's Child would once again be making sweet music together, and some even assumed the group would perform during this year's Super Bowl halftime show since Beyonce is headlining. However, Michelle Williams, one-third of the female power group, recently dismissed these rumors.
Williams discussed the upcoming album "Love Songs" during a visit to the WRUG radio station in Atlanta, and over the course of the interview she spoke about the fables going around. Sadly, she has another commitment on February 3, meaning Beyonce will be going it alone.
"It is rumored. I'm gonna be in the musical Fela! I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it's not true," Williams told the DJs.
It looks like fans of the girl group will have to settle for a few new tracks, like "Nuclear,"Â instead. "Love Songs" drops on January 28.
Even though some people might be upset by the news about the Super Bowl performance, Beyonce is still trying to pump fans up for her solo act.
The singer, who has been under fire for possibly lip syncing at President Obama's recent inauguration, has been posting various photos to her Instagram account featuring her practicing for the Super Bowl. In one shot, Bey is working on some dance moves while her hair is moving wildly in the air. In another snapshot, possibly aimed at the recent criticism, Bey is posing with her hands up, wearing a sweatshirt that reads "Can I Live?" The final black and white photo shows Bey's backup dancers practicing a new routine.
Do you think Williams is telling the truth, or are you holding out hope that she and Rowland will make a surprise appearance at the Super Bowl? Would you rather see Beyonce go solo?
