Beyonce to headline with the big boys
Beyonce is used to selling out stadiums and other large arenas, but her next show will have her performance showcased live to the entire world. ABC News reports the first lady of hip hop and R&B was just named the performer for the halftime show of the 2013 Super Bowl. Bey will be preparing for the biggest stage of her life in one of the most fun and lively places in the country - New Orleans.
The gorgeous singer and new mother is sure to set the stage on fire as she is known for taking pride in her live performances. Most recently, she turned heads when she surprised fans at her hubby's last performance at the Brooklyn Barclays Center.
BET reports Bey is no stranger to the intimidating glow that is the Super Bowl. She sang the national anthem before the 2004 game between the New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers.
Super Bowl halftime musical entertainment began in 1991 with the New Kids On The Block, ABC News reports. The boy band was followed by Gloria Estefan, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Boyz II Men, Phil Collins, U2, Aerosmith, Janet Jackson and many more. Fans of Beyonce can tune in to see how she stands up to past performers during the Super Bowl on February 3.
