Beyonce talks humanitarianism
Robby Novak, also known as the Kid President, recently had the opportunity to sit down with Beyonce and get her take on what human qualities are most valuable today. Unsurprisingly, the 10-year-old was nervous, according to CBS Miami. However, Rolling Stone noted that he still managed to give the singer a smooch on the cheek at the end of the interview. The always stylish performer rocked casual urban clothing, including a simple white tee and tribal printed black pants.
CBS reported that Beyonce is just one of the stars who took part in "The World Needs More" campaign on social networks. The aim is to remember and honor those who have died while doing humanitarian acts and encourage more people to participate in that kind of work.
When the Kid President asked Beyonce who promoted such qualities in her as a child, she admitted her mother played a major role. The diva then commended the men and woman who have served their country, citing unselfishness and compassion as two highly admirable traits.
"I think the worlds needs more empowered men and women," she told Novak, as quoted by CBS. "So I think the world needs more strength."
"Strength" was just one of the words that celebrities tweeted out on Aug. 19 for the campaign. Some of the other terms, according to CBS, included "humanity" and "love." For every re-tweet, participating corporate sponsors donated $1 to a U.N. humanitarian fund.
