Billboard pays homage to fallen musicians

Whitney Houston has been a legend in the music industry for decades and her passing earlier this year certainly shook the entertainment world. BET reports her career and legacy was recently honored at the Billboard Music Awards. Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, attended the award show and accepted the Millennium Award on her mother's behalf.

According to the source, Brown stepped on stage full of emotion, crying and praising her mother's life during her speech.

"I just really want to say thank you to everyone who supported us through it all, not just from when it was good but when it was bad too," Brown told the audience, according to the source. "Thank you so much for showing that much love because she deserved it. I'm just blessed to have been in such an incredible woman's life. There will never be another one. Ever."

Singers John Legend and Jordin Sparks also performed a tribute to Houston during the show, performing her hit "I Will Always Love You."

Reuters reports the show also paid homage to the recently passed Queen of Disco, Donna Summer, Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch and the Bee Gee's Robin Gibb, all of whom passed from cancer.

According to the source, British singer Natasha Bedingfield performed Summer's biggest hit, "Last Dance," during the show. Rapper Cee Lo Green hit the stage with his hip hop band Goodie Mob to perform the Beastie Boys' classic anthem, "Fight For Your Right (To Party)."

Aside from the mournful tributes, the Billboard Awards also had some lively performances as well as entertainers wearing the best in hip hop clothes. Singer Adele won 12 of the 18 awards she was nominated for, while Rappers Wiz Khalifa and Lil Wayne took home the honors in the top new artist and male artist of the year categories. Khalifa's better half, model Amber Rose, looked sexy in an all-white mini dress, while Miley Cyrus was also seeing white, wearing a sassy white blazer as a dress.

Ladies looking to embrace white this season may want to purchase Essentials Rayon Padded Rouched Tube Dress to get the same style as their favorite celebs.
