Brooklyn Nets gear gets the color treatment
When the New Jersey Nets made the move to Brooklyn, it wasn't just the location that changed. Under the guidance of part-owner Jay-Z, the team went through an entire transformation from head to toe. Jay and the other owners decided to take the team back to its roots, opting to keep the uniforms and team merchandise in simple black and white colors.Â
Even though the minimalist approach worked to get fans excited about the move and the new energy of the team, some wanted to see a bit of life from the gear. Freshness magazine reports the team management is one step ahead of Nets enthusiasts, and has recently released more colorful caps featuring the Nets logo.Â
The New Era hats still focus on primary colors - they come in gray, red and blue - but these options are definitely a step in the right direction for people looking to represent their team in style. New merchandise isn't the only change for the team; they may also be getting a big name player in the near future.
LA Lakers star Dwight Howard may soon be repping a Nets jersey. A source told ESPN.com that Howard has been growing "increasingly unhappy" with his current team, stemming from problems with Lakers' coach Mike D'Antonio.
Do you think the Nets gear needs some color? Would you like to have Howard on the team?
