Busta Rhymes Announces His Split With Cash Money
Busta Rhymes is no longer a Cash Money artist. The veteran MC made the announcement during an interview on Shade 45’s Sway In The Morning, according to Missinfo.tv. There is no bad blood between the rapper and the Birdman-helmed record label, but Busta cites creative differences as the reason.
“I just had a conversation with Bird, like, ‘listen, bro. I’m grateful and everything is love with us, but I just gotta see this through the way that I want to see this through,” said Bus.
Busta’s upcoming album, E.L.E.2, was scheduled to be released on Cash Money, but since Busta’s signed to the label back in tk, he has not yet released an album. “For me, with this particular project and all of the sacrifice that went into it—recording for five years, I lost Chris Lighty making this album. I lost my father making this album. The shit I put into this album, I’m not compromising my vision for it,” he said.
No word yet on the album’s release date or whether Busta would sign to another label or release the project on his own.
