Up Close: Marsha Ambrosius

By Souleo w/assistance from Melissa Santaella. JimmyJazz.com got Up Close with singer-songwriter, Marsha Ambrosius for the album release party of her solo debut, Late Nights & Early Mornings. The event was held at New York City's Samsung Experience space in the Time Warner building and we've got a few of the highlights below.

Clear the red carpet because the fierce Marsha is about to walk. Marsha posed and played it up for the cameras showing off that great new body of hers. I admit that I thought her legs were heavily photoshopped on her album cover but in the flesh they look just as good.

Marsha had virtually every woman in the crowd singing along to, "Hope She Cheats On You (With a Basketball Player)." What a title and the lyrics are pretty provocative too as she sings, "'Hope that she Kim Kardashianed her way up. Don't know the difference between a touchdown and a layup.'" Hmmm, you think Marsha was throwing shade at Kim with that line?

You may have seen microphone stands bedazzled with diamonds or wrapped in long scarves but have you ever seen a human one? Well after being put on the spot by the crowd for an impromptu encore, Marsha improvised and pulled an audience member from the crowd to hold her mic. Marsha joked that the idea of a human mic was sexually suggestive but we're sure this lucky guy enjoyed the innuendo.

Check out the video to her single, "Far Away," here:
