Coming This Fall: Nike Godzilla Blazers

Dropping this fall are the highly anticipated-and might we add-extremely loud Godzilla Blazers by Nike.  If there’s a sneaker out there that has any value, chances are there’s a good story behind its inspiration and design.  These Blazers are no exception to this rule. 

Over a decade ago, Nike teamed up with Charles Barkley, one of the top NBA players of all time, and revolutionized the industry with a new perspective on competition. In a commercial for this campaign, Barkley takes on a hip Godzilla in a battle of the hoops.  Barkley does not let mankind down, ending the matchup in a slam dunk to victory.  It is this moment that is commemorated in the upcoming Nike Blazer Mid Premiums.

The most captivating feature of these kicks is the reptile skin texture which dominates the sides.  An army green toe box is flanked at either side by the Swoosh and tongue, made of soft black leather.  The varsity red laces and stitching provide the shoes with a stunning contrast.  The beige midsole puts a finishing touch featuring a gum toecap and olive bottom.
