DMX sheds some light on the state of hip hop
DMX has been on the hip hop scene for quite some time now. Since his first album, though, the genre has evolved dramatically. Now that he's reemerging in the realm of rap, how does DMX feel about the current conditions?
The rapper recently did an interview with 359HipHop and talked about everything from his opinion of Eminem to his aspirations to be a pastor. According to HipHopDX, he's pretty disappointed in the quality of rap right now. However, he did admit that Eminem is a "talented artist," with whom he has a good relationship. As far as his upcoming album with Swizz Beatz, he still couldn't offer any idea of when it will drop. Still, he did offer up some words of advice to hip hop hopefuls.
"If you're going to rap, do it because you love to do it and have a purpose," DMX said, as quoted by Hot New Hip Hop.
