Drake wins big at BET Hip Hop Awards
The 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards don't air until Oct. 15, but music fans can already take a look at who took home top honors. Fresh off the release of his third studio album, "Nothing Was The Same," Drake took home the People's Champ Award for his smash hit "Started From The Bottom." Yet, while he was one of the night's big winners, Drake certainly was not alone at the ceremony, where hip-hop's biggest names came way with some awards.
One of the night's other highlights came when A$AP Rocky was given The Perfect Combo Award for his single "F**kin' Problems," which featured a number of big-name artists including Drake, Kendrick Lamar and 2 Chainz. Such collaborations are nothing new in the hip-hop world, and Drake is mulling the possibility of working with one of the other biggest names in the industry - Chris Brown. Despite a rocky relationship, sources close to Brown say he wants to work with the Canadian rapper.
"He's open to that idea. Look, he bumps 'Nothing Was The Same.' It's a hot album and it's doing well and he's got respect for Drake," the source told Hollywood Life. "He's all about coming out with banging new music and making history, and he's not opposed to that idea."
The awards show kicks of Oct. 15 at 8 p.m. and is hosted by Snoop Lion, which gives fans the chance to see what their favorite artists are wearing, whether it be Nike kicks or Timberlands. Who do you want to see at the awards?
