The face of Jordan getting revamped
Basketball star Dwyane Wade had taken over the reins as the face behind the Jordan brand, but that all changed when his contract ended recently. Wade decided to end the partnership with Nike in pursuit of his own sneaker line with Li-Ning.
The end of this era means the beginning of a new relationship, and Nike has its sights set on Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin, Hypebeast.com reports. Griffin is no stranger to Nike as he was signed with the brand during his rookie season in 2009-10.
Rumors of Griffin taking on the Jordan legacy sparked when he was seen rocking a custom pair of Jordan Brand Super Fly sneakers in royal blue during the Clippers' home opener on October 31.
KicksonFire.com reports Griffin may be one of many stars to represent the Jordan name. DeMar DeRozan was wearing custom Jordan's during his game, as was Kobe Bryant. Other basketball stars that have garnered attention through Nike and the Jordan brand include Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook.
Do you think Griffin is a good choice for Nike and Jordan?
