Fans go 'Berzerk' for Eminem's new track
After a teaser trailer kept fans on the edge of their seats for several days, Eminem finally dropped "Berzerk," a track fresh off his newly announced album "Marshall Mathers LP 2." The album is scheduled to hit stores Nov. 5, according to Just Jared, and was co-produced by both the legendary Rick Rubin and Dr. Dre.
The rapper, now 40, seems to be returning to his roots with an old school vibe.
"Let's take it back to straight hip hop and start it from scratch / I'm 'bout to bloody this track up, everybody get back," he says in the song.
It's a risky move for Em to hearken back to a classic feel in his new track, but it seems to be working for him. Entertainment Weekly reported that the hip hop artist didn't even attend the recent MTV Video Music Awards, though he did appear in a couple Beats By Dre commercials that aired during the show. Despite the fact that he was conspicuously missing from the VMAs, "Berzerk" still shot to number two on the iTunes singles chart after its midnight release.
"This is your jam," he raps at the end of the third verse. So what do you think - is it?
