Frank Ocean rocks SNL
R&B crooner Frank Ocean continues to make a name for himself in the industry. Most recently, the rising star stunned audiences during his debut performance on "Saturday Night Live." Hypebeast reports the singer had a little confidence booster by way of performer John Mayer on guitar.
Ocean killed it during his performances - he wowed the crowds singing renditions of "Pyramids" and "Thinkin' Bout You," off of his new album "channel ORANGE." Mayer appears on the album and kept it cool in the background during the live performances.
MTV News reports Ocean's newfound success is for the most part not being overshadowed by his recent announcement that he is gay. However, rapper Lil Wayne did spit a rhyme about his sexuality on Future's remix for "Turn on the Lights." Wayne raps, "Tell her I skate/ I ain't got no worries/ No Frank Ocean, I'm straight."
Wayne has received a bit of backlash for the lyrics, but Ocean has yet to comment on it. For now, the R&B crooner seems to be living it up in the spotlight. Aside from his recent performance on SNL, he also had a heartfelt performance on the recent MTV Video Music Awards that worked to grow his fan base.
