Get ready for a 'King of New York' remake, starring Diddy
The movie "King of New York," which starred Christopher Walken, Laurence Fishburne and Wesley Snipes, is no doubt an urban classic. Not only that, but the film had a major impact on the hip hop industry. Now, Imagine Entertainment co-founder and Oscar-winning producer Brian Grazer plans to remake the '90s cult drama, with Diddy as the potential star.
According to Complex magazine, Grazer has stated that their remake will offer a modern twist on the story, but will have the same "hard-core gangster feel."
"Sean wants to be in it, he was amazing in 'Monster's Ball,' and such strong characters sit perfectly with him," he said, as quoted by the source.
If the duo follows through with the project, Hot New Hip Hop reports that production should start next year.
If you saw the original, do you think Diddy can do the movie justice?
