Derrick Coleman (1990-Present)

American Football Running Back, 1st Deaf offensive player in the NFL

Derrick Coleman busted open present-day barriers for those, young and old, to believe in themselves.  He stands as a model that handicaps don't define who you are, nor do they have to limit what you are capable of.  He appeared in a recent Duracell commercial wearing a hearing aid, which reports state inspired two young twin sisters who also wear hearing aids to write to him, giving their appreciative support. Coleman scored his first touchdown in the December 2nd match up against the New Orleans Saints.

"I always say that God blessed me this morning and I can do what I do." - Derrick Coleman

Have you or anyone know you had to overcome a hardship like Derrick's?
