In Honor of Black History Month: Venus and Serena Williams

The Williams Sisters

Professional American Tennis Players / Grand-Slam Title Winners / Olympic Gold Medalists

Venus and Serena Williams are 2 of the greatest athletes to ever hit the tennis scene.  They were coached since childhood by their mother and father and are best known for their own personal (professional) rivalry.  Venus is a seven-time Grand-Slam Title winner and Serena is a seventeen-time Grand-Slam Title winner, and both have been honored by the Women's Tennis Association, (both) ranking #1 in the world.  Between 2001 and 2009, they have met face to face in eight Grand-Slam singles finals, but no matter the outcome, the 2 remain close and support each other fully. Athleticism and professionalism sure do run in that family and the world has been entertained and awed by their talents it first watched the spectacle that is the Williams sisters.

"Family's first, and that's what matters most. We realize that our love goes deeper than the tennis game." - Serena Williams

"I always like to win. But I'm the big sister. I want to make sure she has everything, even if I don't have anything. It's hard. I love her too much. That's what counts." - Venus Williams
