Ja Rule heads to the silver screen
Following in the footsteps of other hip hop legends like Eminem and Drake, Ja Rule is now focusing on a movie career.
According to Hip Hop DX, the rapper stars in "I'm in Love With a Church Girl," which will hit more than 500 theaters in the U.S. Oct. 18. The film is based on screenwriter Galley Molina's life, and features Stephen Baldwin and Vincent Pastore of "The Sopranos." Apparently, when Molina learned of Ja Rule's struggles and life mistakes, he felt a kinship.
In an interview with USA Today, Ja Rule noted that this role was quite a change from his past projects, such as "The Fast and the Furious."
"I love music, it's my passion," he explained. "This is my second wind right now, and I'm happy to be home, but I think as I'm getting older, my passion is leaning toward doing more television and film. Music is my heart, but I see television and more movies in the next stage of my life."
Do you think Rule has what it takes to be an actor?
