Janelle Monae to drop new music
"American Boy" singer Janelle Monae has been featured on a number of other people's songs as of late, but she hasn't been belting out her own music. However, it was recently announced Monae will be releasing her sophomore album, "The Electric Lady," September 10, exclusively at Target.
Monae admitted to BET that she is thrilled to be creating new music as well as offering her fans a taste of more exclusive sounds that they'll only get when they purchase the album at Target locations or online.
"I'm excited because I get the opportunity to not only pick the exclusive songs myself, but to really give my supporters and my 'Fandroids,' as I like to call them, an opportunity to hear rare musical contributions," the singer told the news source.
The British star added people can expect equally-as-talented artists like Miguel and Erykah Badu to lend their voices on the upcoming project.
According to The Los Angeles Times, Monae recently rocked the stage during the BET Awards. The singer closed the show with her song "Q.U.E.E.N." She was joined by Badu for the memorable performance.
