Janet Jackson is officially off the market
Michael Jackson's eldest son Prince Michael Jackson recently got a gig as a reporter for the show "Entertainment Tonight." Now it seems as if he might have already dished on a family secret - the celebrity news station was the first to report that Prince's aunt Janet Jackson secretly wed her billionaire boyfriend, Wissam Al Mana.
According to the source, the couple decided to announce their marriage following recent rumors that they were planning an over-the-top wedding for later this year.
"The rumors regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year, we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony," the couple said in their first official statement together, which was sent to Entertainment Tonight along with their official wedding photo. "Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favorite children's charities. We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy. With love, Wissam and Janet."
MTV News reports this is Janet's third walk down the aisle. She had previously been married to James DeBarge and Rene Elizondo. The singer and actress was also engaged to music producer Jermaine Dupri, though the couple split up for good in 2009 following an 8-year courtship.
Janet and Al Mana, a billionaire businessman, began dating in 2010 and announced their engagement in December 2012. A source revealed to Us Weekly that Janet hopes to have children with her new husband in the near future. The source added that if Janet can't get pregnant, "she will adopt," in order to become a parent with Al Mana.
No other information about the nuptials has been released.
Are you surprised Janet got married so secretively? Do you think her relationship with Al Mana will last?
