Jay-Z continues to be team Obama
It's no secret the first family of hip hop, Beyonce and hubby Jay-Z, are backing the reelection of President Obama. The Washington Post reports the couple recently held a fundraising event in the president's honor in New York City where more than 100 supporters listened to the commander in chief talk. Now, Jay has taken his support one step further by starring in a new video ad urging young Americans to vote and in his opinion, to vote for Obama.
"For so long, there was this voice that was silenced out there as far as exercising the right to vote. I think it was a voice that was silent because people had lost hope. People didn't believe that their voice mattered or counted. They thought it was just policies, people going back and forth and at the end of the day, it never trickled down to where we live," Jay says in the video called "Jay-Z: The Power of Our Voice. "Now, people are exercising their right and you're starting to see the power of our vote. It means something for the first time for a lot of people, having someone in office who understands how powerful our voice can be. It's very important."
Jay went on to say that when Obama took office he represented hope to the kids across America, showing teens and young adults everywhere that dreams can be achieved.
Are you going to vote? Do you know who you will be voting for?
