Jennifer Hudson to launch clothing line
Jennifer Hudson continues to transform herself, as she's committed to a healthier lifestyle, she's getting married and now she's getting into women's urban clothes. Women's Wear Daily reports the Oscar winner will be gearing up to create her own line of women's clothing for QVC.
According to the news outlet, Hudson will cater to women of all sizes as every piece in her collection will run from size 6 to 16.
"I feel like I represent every woman," Hudson told the publication, according to BET. "I've been on both sides of the fence. I've been a big girl and now whatever this is, the average size, whatever you want to call it. But I wanted the clothes to be where any girl could wear it - no matter what size you are - and you could feel comfortable in it."
Hudson went from a size 16 to her current weight after signing an endorsement deal with Weight Watchers in 2010. She went on the Oprah show in February 2011 to reveal her new body and to announce how much weight she was able to lose with the help from the dieting company. Hudson admitted to being a bit self-conscious to reveal the number on the show, as she remembers what it was like to see a high number before getting healthy.
"This is the thing: I understand because I understand the shame of having a heavy number," Hudson confessed to Oprah, according to Oprah.com. "I've been as high as 237, at the doctor's office lying that I was 230, like those seven pounds made a difference. So, I know that part. But once you've [lost the weight], it's a victory. I really want to tell it. I've lost...80 pounds!"
Now, the singer and actress is excited to both inspire people to try and get healthy and to be able to help women feel beautiful in the skin they're in.
BET reports the 14-piece collection, which is inspired by Hudson's own style, will include a sheer maxi skirt, a coat, a body-con dress and leggings. Hudson admitted her favorite outfit would be something fashionable, yet comfortable.
"I'm the legging queen. What I love about a legging is, again, it’s a piece you can dress up or down and its still comfortable," Hudson told the news outlet.
