Jennifer Hudson reveals her style icon
The gorgeous and talented Jennifer Hudson has been reinventing herself for the past few years following a tragic family event. Now, the award-winning beauty is setting out on a different path - inspiring women to embrace their bodies and love who they are.
Hudson opened up about her life and her style inspirations in the pages of Lucky Magazine. The star, who famously lost more then 80 pounds and acts as a spokesperson for Weight Watchers, admitted she still loves a piece of chocolate cake now and then. However, she has learned the key to living well is through moderation. As for her style icon, some may be surprised to learn that it is her grandfather.
"The most stylish person in my family was definitely him," Hudson told the magazine regarding her grandfather. "He'd take you into his closet and be like, 'Hey! You need to wear this, Jenny!' He was [never] dressed down, honey, his closet, his clothes, they were sharp. He would pick things out of his [wardrobe] for me to wear and they were always perfect. That's why I love menswear."
The actress and singer will be busy in the coming months, The Chicago Tribune reports. Hudson was just cast in "Black Nativity" alongside Forest Whitaker and Angela Bassett. The film will be based on Langston Hughes' gospel music and will focus on a young boy's journey to Harlem to spend Christmas with his grandparents, whom he's never met.
