Jeremy Lin getting the star treatment
Basketball's surprise breakout star, Jeremy Lin, rose to success in a flash, but it seems he is here to stay. Hypebeast reports Lin's skills on the basketball court have now transcended into the world of branding.
Lin is now starring in a group of commercials for the Swedish automotive brand, Volvo. The series, dubbed "The Unexpected Ones," depicts Lin driving in one of the new models by the car company, the XC60, describing how he feels about his sudden rise to fame.
The New York Daily News reports this isn't the only endorsement deal Lin has going for him. He recently renewed a contract with Nike for between $2 and $4 million. It's been reported he may also be the face of merchandise for his alma mater, Harvard University, as he's been in talks with the Ivy League school for a few months now. His two-year deal with Volvo will have him in a number of commercials and print ads and the company hopes the ads will help resonate with younger buyers, as well as consumers in China and other Asian markets.
