Kanye Opens Up In New Issue of GQ
Always one to make a big statement, Kanye West has a lot more than fashion to give GQ magazine. In an exclusive interview, the rapper spoke on everything from Drake, his music, his daughter North West, Jay and Beyonce being a no-show at his wedding, and more.
“We’re going to fight to raise the respect level for celebrities so that my daughter can live a normal life,” ‘Ye said about North West. “She didn’t chose to be a celebrity but she is. So I’m going to fight to make sure she has a better life.”
Kanye also said that it didn’t matter to him who showed up to his wedding, and even likened his notorious outbursts to him being a blowfish rather than a shark. “I wouldn’t want to hurt anyone. I want to defend people. I want to help people,” he said.
With regards to his new album, ‘Ye said he was trying to release new music in the next couple of weeks, but had been busy with his daughter and his Adidas shoe. Kanye also acknowledged that Drake “got last summer. And I’d never given it up till last summer.”
Sharing very personal details with GQ, Kanye talked about his marriage to Kim Kardashian and how cool it was to be able to call someone “mom” again (in reference to his mother-in-law).
