Kanye West Twitter attacks fashion in NYC

Kanye West has been known to let out a rant or two from time-to-time and although most of his outbursts seem a little crazy or out of line, his most recent Twitter war may hold some merit. Us Weekly Magazine reports the recent rant stemmed from the horrible hip hop clothes he saw people wearing while walking the streets of New York City. West was apparently just trying to help New Yorkers and his Twitter followers look better when out in public.

According to the source, West went off about people wearing urban clothes in a sloppy or incorrect manner.

"Just driving through the city and I see a few things I hate…" West wrote on his Twitter page. "I hate button up shirts with hoods. I hate hoods with sport coats. I hate sport coats with button up shirts, jeans and dress shoes."

West took the tirade even further, calling out individuals for wearing khakis, jeans and everything in between. No one was safe as West drove around the Big Apple.

"I hate khaki trench coats with jeans and off brand work out sneakers," West added. "I hate khaki cargo shorts. I hate big [expletive] striped scarves. I hate long [expletive] sideburns with line up RnB beard."

West may think he has an eye for fashion - he recently debuted his sophomore collection during Paris Fashion Week, but his critics may not think so highly of his choices.

Eric Wilson of The New York Times recently spoke about West's Paris show and from his remarks, it's obvious he was less than impressed with what he saw.

"When Joan Smalls closed the show, wearing an adhesive black gauze dress with a strip of alligator running up the front, it seemed as if Mr. West’s approach to making a dress was like a cook wrapping leftover turkey," Wilson said in his review.

Perhaps it would be best if West decided to just stick to making hip hop tracks and leave the fashion world to Jay-Z, co-creator of Rocawear.
