Kevin Durant: The next to turn to Hov?
It seems as if everyone who is anyone in the sports world these days is looking to leave their agents in order to join Roc Nation Sports. Most recently, rumors have been swirling that Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant is the latest athlete to be in talks with the relatively new agency.
Liz Mullen of Sports Business Journal took to her Twitter account to discuss the big news.
"Kevin Durant has left his agent. Multiple sources expect him to join Jay-Z's @RocNation Sports," Mullen wrote on her page.
A source close to the basketball star added more fuel to the fire by talking about the reason Durant wants to be represented by Jay and his team of experts on Yahoo Sports.
"KD [Kevin Durant] doesn't want a traditional NBA agent anymore," a league source told the news outlet June 7. "He wants Jay-Z to handle his branding. …He had a chance to be with his idol and couldn't say no."
This is the second time Durant is making a move in two years. The superstar was most recently represented by Rob Pelinka of Landmark Sports. Under Pelinka's watch, Durant scored major deals with Nike, Degree and Sprint.
Do you think it's wise for Durant to leave Pelinka for Jay-Z? Would you wait to see what type of work Hov's company accomplished before switching?
