Kevin Durant's new track puts the spotlight on local rappers

Sure, Shaq, Iman Shumpert and Joe Smith managed to successfully cross over from the NBA to the music industry, but countless others that attempt to transition just can't make the cut. So what about Kevin Durant? Proving that he's got more game than what he brings on the court, the Oklahoma City Thunder forward, also known by his rap name Sniper Jon, released a new track featuring local hip hop acts like Privaledge, Josh Sallee and CL McCoy.

The Roc Nation Sports star's single "Whole Life" has been getting a lot of buzz. This isn't the first time he's grabbed the mic, though - "Tha Formula," "Wired" and "Gotta Have It" are just a few of his other rap tracks.

"I enjoy doing a lot of different things," Durant told The Washington Post in an interview. "I'm a basketball player. That's what I do and what I love but that's just not all who I am. I'm talented in a lot of different areas. Rapping is one of those things I just enjoy doing. I have fun doing."

What do you think of Durant's new track?
