LeBron James promotes new Nike products
It's no question LeBron James has had one of the best years of his life. Not only did he finally grasp an NBA championship with his team the Miami Heat, but he also got the MVP award from the league and - oh yeah, just won a gold medal at the recent London Olympic Games. Freshness Magazine reports the superstar is on his way to surpassing, or at least matching, legend Michael Jordan in accomplishments as he is the only other person who obtained all three of these accomplishments in a single season.
Although critics and fans may be debating over who is the best basketball player of all time, James seems to instead be relishing in the moment. Most recently the superstar athlete took time out to empower and encourage basketball players in China during a promotional tour with Nike Basketball dubbed "Find Your Greatness."
About a week after taking home the gold in London, James headed to China to promote the new line of Nike basketball sneakers, while also hanging out and shooting hoops with more than 2,000 screaming fans, the news outlet reports. During the promotional tour James discussed his work ethic and his numerous achievements and then watched a basketball game between two local teams. James spent four days traveling to various cities around China.
Yahoo!Sports reports the shoes James was promoting in China are the latest in the Nike family. The LeBron X, which are "inspired both aesthetically and metaphorically, by the diamond, a precious and nearly indestructible gemstone," were worn by James during the Olympic Games. The standard model will hit stores in fall and will cost fans $180 a pair, while the LeBron X Nike Plus, which come with technology built around pressure and motion sensor tracking, will cost $315. The latter is the most expensive sneaker Nike has put out to date.
