LL Cool J: Don't call it a comeback
Rapper LL Cool J has had an impressive run within the music industry as his career spans more than two decades. Now, he spends most of his time starring on the cop drama "NCIS: Los Angeles," though he's got more up his sleeve than learning lines. J recently sat down with Essence Magazine to discuss his latest project - putting pen to paper for a new album.
J is currently working on his 14th studio album titled "Authentic Hip Hop," which is set to be released in early 2013.
The rapper and actor is excited about his new sound, though he made sure to express to fans that he isn't trying to be like the young rappers today, he prefers to stick to his roots.
"I'm not trying to compete with the 17-year-olds on the radio, but I am talking directly to the folks who came up with me," J told the magazine. "We may not be teenagers anymore, but we do still like to have fun."
Despite the fact that the album isn't set to drop until later, a few tracks have already started making waves on the radio, BET reports. "Take It" and "Ratchet" have been released for fans to listen to. This will be J's first album since 2008.
