The Lowdown on iOS7.1 and 8
Do you feel like you can barely keep up with Apple's iOS updates lately? There have been some major changes recently, and Jimmy Jazz is making sure you're not left in the dark.
The first major update just came out for the iOS7 iPhone, iPad and iPod software and there are a few features you should know about. First of all, iOS7.1 lets you access your music, maps, messages and audio apps while you're driving - as long as your vehicle is CarPlay-enabled. You'll also be able to control Siri through your car's touchscreen and buttons. And since Siri needed some improvements, you'll now be able to determine how much of your conversation she picks up by holding down the "Home" button. A "month view" was added to the Calendar app, so you can stay on top of all your events more easily. Plus, the iPhone 5S has better fingerprint recognition, eliminating a lot of unnecessary frustration.
Even though the iOS 8 hasn't been formally announced yet, Complex magazine reported that screenshots popping up on the Internet have offered a few hints about the impending update. A few new potential apps include Healthbook, Tips, Preview, and TextEdit.
