Music to look forward to in 2013
The new year is here and now that the fiscal cliff has been avoided, music fans can get back to thinking about all the albums set to drop in 2013. BET recently broke down some of the top artists set to release new CDs in 2013, so fans can get excited about what's to come.
Rapper J. Cole found success with his debut album, "Cole World: The Sideline Story," in September of 2011, and he believes his rise to fame is allowing him to create an even better second LP. He's admitted he's looking to hone in on his sound and be true to himself, rather than make more mainstream music just for ratings. His first single, "Miss America," shows off his talent.
Seasoned rapper Lil Wayne has been in the game since he was in single digits and although he recently discussed ditching music for a career in skateboarding, it seems he can't get enough of making sweet beats. His latest project, "I Am Not a Human Being 2," is a follow up to his 2010 album, "I Am Not a Human Being."
Some fans might think Wayne is not as committed to music as he once was, but based on his heavy-hitting lineup of producers and guest spots, the album may shape up to be one of his better creations. Juicy J, David Banner, Cool and Dr. Dre are all in talks to produce the album, while Kanye West and 2 Chainz are scheduled to lend their talents on various tracks, the news outlet reports.
This hard-working artist has yet to slow down since giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy almost a year ago. Aside from performing during this year's Super Bowl halftime show, Bey is also putting out a documentary and a new album in 2013. She will reportedly be showcasing some of her new songs during the Super Bowl, along with a few of her classics.
The New York-based rapper is at it again. This time, the artist, who is loved by both famed fashion designers and big time musicians, is bringing the heat. Banks will release her mix of sassy and classy with her latest album "Broke With Expensive Taste," sometime in 2013. The CD is set to showcase Banks' abilities to mix dance music and hip hop with more fun club sounds.
Are you excited about any of these albums? Who else do you hope to see release new music this year?
