NCAA Kicks Recap: What Were the Players Wearing?
Basketball players in the recent NCAA Tournament had a major decision to make - and it didn't have anything to do with their on-court strategy. What kicks would they be lacing up? It goes without saying that footwear can impact performance, and the athletes that made it to the final four had to be sure they were sporting the best of the best. So what did they choose for a combination of comfort, agility and style?
Lakers Nation reported that many of the players opted for sneakers from the Nike Kobe Bryant line. The news source noted that before the 9s came out, the Kobe Venomenon and Kobe 8s were the most popular, with forward DeAndre Daniels, who aided in leading UConn to win the National Championship, choosing them.
The Kentucky Wildcats, meanwhile, gravitated toward the Kobe 9s. According to Lakers Nation, Willie Cauley-Stein, James Young and NBA draft prospect Julius Randle have all been spotted in the Elite models - specifically, the "Perspectives" and "Maestro" editions. Randle selected the Elite "Details" for the Final Four match with Wisconsin.
