New Insight Into Kanye's Next Album
Ever since Kanye West announced that he would be releasing another solo album this summer, hip hop fans have been on the edge of their seats.
Up until now, we didn't know a lot about the upcoming, untitled LP. However, The Source reported that we do know Q-Tip and Rick Rubin will be producing the album. Additionally, Evian Christ, who is the mostly responsible for the instrumental on the "Yeezus" track "I'm In It," also revealed some more details in an interview with Self-Titled Magazine.
"I've got to get home and write an Otis Redding–style beat for him," said the producer. "He e-mailed last night. He wants something that sounds a bit like Otis Redding, a bit like Mobb Deep."
Christ also noted that Kanye is known to criticize sounds for being "too pop-y" or "not experimental enough." The best part about working with Yeezy? Christ says it's the creative freedom. Surprisingly, 'Ye often stresses not to make anything that sounds like a traditional rap beat.
Considering the success of "Yeezus," it's likely that Kanye will continue to push the envelope with controversial rap that generates a strong reaction.
Do you think he can top his last album?
