Nicki Minaj gets political
Nicki Minaj in known for spitting out some of the fastest rhymes in the industry and for wearing outrageous hip hop clothes, though a recent rant has put her in the political spotlight. BET reports the rapper took to her Twitter page to voice her opinion on healthcare issues in America.
According to the news outlet, the outburst comes after news broke that "Moesha" actress Yvette Wilson died of cervical cancer last week. Minaj was upset by the speculation that health care issues had gotten in the way of Wilson being able to receive the proper treatments that could have saved her life.
"What’s sad is that when Yvette was bringing home the bacon, the gov’t was probably taking millions," Minaj wrote on Twitter, MTV News reports. "On her deathbed though, #Nowheretobefound. That should be a God given right! Even with Obama Care, too much involved. Just give FREE health care to all. @BarackObama what can we do?"
It's been reported that prior to Wilson's death, her friend Jeffrey Pittle had set up a donation website to help pay for the costs of her medical bills, the site had reached 30 percent of the $50,000 goal, according to BET.
Fans of Minaj who want to see change and display their personality through their clothes like she does should purchase the Baby Phat Print Belted Jumpsuit to wear in the summer.
