Nicki Minaj lands Pepsi deal
Nicki Minaj has been all over the hip hop world as of late and we all know she's hard to miss. From her crazy and over-the-top wigs to her colorful body-hugging hip hop clothes, Minaj certainly knows how to set herself apart from the rest of the singers/rappers in the industry.
EBONY Magazine reports that it's not just other artists that are noticing the talent behind this "quirky female rapper," but big name companies are too. It was recently reported that Minaj signed a multi-million dollar deal with Pepsi. Minaj has already filmed a commercial in South Africa.
Forbes Magazine spoke with Derek Jackson of the Glu agency that brokered the deal. Jackson told the source Minaj will act as the face of the brand's new drink called "Pop."
"You'll see the commercial probably in the next two months," Jackson told the publication. "That'll be a segue into a new beverage Pepsi has, called 'Pop,' and she'll be the face of the brand … it's going to be explosive."
Landing Pepsi is a huge deal, as numerous other performers including the late Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey, among others, have found stardom in the midst of endorsement deals with the soft drink company.
