Nike releasing new kicks at Battle of the Boroughs
The finals of the Battle of the Boroughs basketball competition will take place this weekend on the Rivington Courts in New York's Lower East Side. Fans of basketball at its best can hit up the courts to see what true street competition is like. Aside from checking out the biggest upsets and plays, fans can also check out some fresh new footwear.
In honor of the event, Nike will be releasing two limited edition models of their already popular Air Max Hyperposite style, HypeBeast.com reports. The sneakers on display at the event will come in fresh new hues. The royal/total orange-blue glow option will be showcased and is already available in stores, while the second choice - crystal mint/metallic-coppercoin - will hit stores in November.
Those who are not able to make the games can check out Nike's Twitter page for a chance to win a pair of the fresh sneakers. Give the footwear brand a shout out using the hashtag #NikeNYC to be entered for the drawing. The championship game will start at 6 p.m. on August 26.
The New York Post reports Brooklyn won against the Bronx 94-81 in the semi-finals on August 19. The team will play Harlem in the finals after the team beat out Queens 854-78.
