Rachel Roy works with Seu Jorge on new line
Famed celebrity designer Rachel Roy is looking to infuse a little Latin flair into her latest collection by teaming up with Brazilian rock star Seu Jorge. Ebony Magazine reports this isn't the first time Roy has collaborated on a hip hop clothes line with a celebrity. She previously worked with NBA star Amare'e Stoudemire for her RACHEL Rachel Roy collection.
According to the source, the new limited edition line will be called RACHEL Rachel Roy + Seu Jorge collection. Roy was inspired to work with the star, who was in the film "The Life Aquatic," after visiting the country. She told the news outlet everything about the nation of Brazil got her creative juices flowing.
"The essence of Brazil comes through in so many different forms - music, nature, architecture, the people," Roy said in a press release, according to the news outlet. "Seu really wants to bring joy, hope and change to the people of Brazil through his music. Our collaboration embodies all of this."
The Huffington Post reports the collection will be sold at Macy's as a part of its new campaign meant to spotlight Brazil. The line will include sportswear, footwear, jewelry and handbags.
